Analysis of Safety Protection Functions of Digital Metering Pumps

In the chemical production process, safety hazards in the fluid measurement persist - leakage of the medium may cause corrosion and burns, measurement errors may lead to uncontrolled reactions, and equipment failures may result in production losses. Traditional metering pumps, lacking a complete safety protection mechanism, are unable to cope with these risks. However, digital metering pumps, with their comprehensive safety design, have become an important guardian for chemical safety production. 
One of the safety measures of digital metering pumps is precise metering control, which prevents safety accidents caused by imbalance in the ratio from the source. In the feed process of chemical reaction vessels, even a slight deviation in the amount of raw materials added can lead to intense heat release during the reaction or the generation of toxic by-products. Digital metering pumps achieve precise flow control through stepper motors and PID closed-loop control, keeping the flow error within ±0.15%. This ensures that the raw materials are accurately added according to the process requirements. A fine chemical enterprise once experienced a sudden increase of 120°C in the temperature of the reaction vessel due to the deviation in traditional pump metering, nearly causing an explosion. The second line of defense is the real-time monitoring and active protection function, which promptly blocks the spread of risks. The equipment is equipped with three sensors for pressure, temperature, and flow, which monitor the status of the pipeline and pump body in real time: when the pipeline pressure exceeds the set value by 10%, the automatic relief valve will trigger to reduce pressure; when the motor temperature exceeds 70℃, the machine will immediately stop to cool down; when a medium leakage is detected (such as abnormal flow caused by a failed seal), not only will there be an audible and visual alarm, but also the upstream valve will be automatically cut off to prevent the leakage from expanding. When a fertilizer factory was using a digital metering pump to transport liquid ammonia, due to the aging of the sealing parts, there was a slight leakage. The equipment completed the alarm and valve cutting within 3 seconds, avoiding the diffusion of toxic gases and ensuring the safety of the workshop personnel. 
Furthermore, the explosion-proof design of the digital metering pump is further adapted to the hazardous chemical environments. Its electrical part adopts the ExdIIBT4Ga level explosion-proof structure, and the casing can withstand the internal explosion pressure and prevent the spread of flames. It can operate safely in workshops containing flammable gases such as methane and propane. At the same time, the operation interface of the equipment is designed with an intrinsically safe type, avoiding the possibility of explosion caused by electric sparks during operation. In the catalytic cracking workshop of the petrochemical industry, the explosion-proof performance of the digital metering pump has passed strict on-site tests and has become the preferred equipment for fluid measurement in high-risk areas. 
From precise control to active protection, and then to explosion-proof adaptation, the digital metering pump, with its multi-dimensional safety functions, has built a solid safety barrier for chemical production, helping enterprises enhance production efficiency while achieving their production goals.
